I posted awhile back that I was going to be participating in the Vintage Linen Remix - Flirty Apron Swap. Well, as always, I wish I'd gotten started sooner, but right now I'm knee deep in vintage linens and feeling rushed. I didn't want to start creating until I knew who my partner was. Now that I've got hindsight on my side, I should have just gone ahead with the project. I did as any fabric lover does, went crazy buying up vintage linens and now have enough to make SEVERAL aprons and more than likely, will do just that. I could have done that in advance and then picked the most appropriate for my parter. oh well.
I don't have any pictures of the fabrics that I've chosen because they are all in various stages of laundering as I write this. (Hard to take a good pic that way!)
I'll get some pictures up soon. My plan is to create a half apron in a kickpleat sort of design. I've got some lighter and some darker fabrics to mix. Most of the vintage linens I found were very light but I am partial to making aprons a little more "user friendly" and I know an all white apron would make me less likely to actually cook with it for fear of spills. Hopefully I can find a balance that I'm comfortable with.
